Lesson IX - Interactive Multimedia

In this lecture, I learned that through Interactive Multimedia, the information known by the user can be shared worldwide. Its contents like videos, audios, online games, online tests, courseware, podcasts, and vodcasts made it possible to obtain new lessons or even interests that actually helps you to have fun. Learning on how to post a video on Blogger and embedding a YouTube video were applied to a performance task that we had and it is to make a video that contains a challenge of our choice with a four-member group, post it on YouTube and embed it on our blog. My group members -- Sharmaine, Glaire, Pearlie, including myself made a video entitled "#TheFloorIsLavaChallenge" in which players pretend that the floor is made of lava and must avoid touching the ground. When someone says "the floor is lava", the players should find a higher ground like furnitures within 5 seconds and if failed to do so, that player is considered as "killed" and kicked out of the game.

Lesson VIII - Collaborative ICT Development

The eighth lesson taught us that Online collaborative tools give convenience to users especially to people who needs to do group projects. These tools like Facebook Groups, WordPress, G Suite, Google Docs, Sheets and Slides, Microsoft Office Online, Microsoft’s Yammer, Trello, and Web Portal make you and your group work together virtually.

Lesson VII - Online Platforms as Tools for ICT Content & Development

This lesson taught us that online platforms such as Social Media, Blogging, Visualization, Cloud Computing, Web Page Creation, Files Management, and Mapping plays a big role in the growth and development of I.C.T. We, the users of these online platforms, maintain its progression by creating and sharing ideas as well as interacting with each other through the use of Internet. Web design principles and elements were also discussed and I'm seriously considering the tips to make this blog successful. Not too long ago, HTML and CSS are the only solution to make a decent website but now, WYSIWYG or 'What You See Is What You Get' editor made it possible to create and design a web page without any knowledge of coding. Just like here in Blogger -- whatever you edit, type, insert, or rearrange on a page is what the audience will see; it shows and prints whatever you type on the screen. You can either choose to edit through WYSIWYG or HTML.

Lesson VI - Imaging & Design for Online Environment

This lesson covers the basic principles needed to consider in graphics and layout to have an eye catching product. Photos with informative facts and creative designs I usually see in Pinterest are actually connected to Infographics; the templates used were either edited personally through a design software or came from a web-based infographic application like Piktochart and Canva. These sites also provide templates of posters, resume, flyers, cards and logos. I learned about Image manipulation and editing as well as uploading and sharing on image hosting platforms like Instagram; these are things 21st century people do on a daily basis and I'm glad to know its terms and definitions.

We had a performance task and it is to make an Infographics about ourselves on Piktochart.

Lesson V - Advanced Presentation Skills

The fifth lesson taught us how to make a visual aid presentation using the Microsoft PowerPoint. It provides information and ideas with the help of slides that can be added with images, audios, videos and hyperlinks that may either jump to another slide or a website. The class was divided into a 5-member group to make a presentation about the school. We decided to make a virtual tour with multiple hyperlinks just like an otome game. I learned how to insert hyperlinks effectively which contributed to our group's performance task and it made me improve my skills in making a PowerPoint presentation.

Lesson IV - Advanced Spreadsheet Skills

This lecture mainly focused on how to work more advanced on spreadsheet using the Microsoft Excel. I am kind of familiar with using the Excel due to a project we made for grading students with our sample exam but I don't know much because I guessed and fiddled with it. I learned starting from the parts of the spreadsheet, editing of cells, inserting symbols or formulas and shortcuts to computing the sum, average and count of the range -- all of these were taught and hopefully will come in handy in the future.

Lesson III - Advanced Word Processing

In this lesson, we focused on Microsoft Word and its other features. I learned on how to make a cover letter using mail merge. It allows you to produce multiple letters with the same content but different addresses instantly. Integrating images & external materials like screenshot and smart art were also discussed to determine which is which when you need it to insert in your document. Image placement like square, tight and through helps you arrange the position of your image in accordance to your text; e.g. you can either place the image beneath the text or above it.

We had a performance task regarding this lesson and we must create a cover letter using mail merge as well as a resume that we personally designed.

Lesson II - Rules of Netiquette

This lesson is probably one of the most crucial and a must known information to prevent danger in the Internet. "Think before you click", they say -- we have to be cautious and responsible for what we do inside the world of technology. Social Networking Sites like Facebook, Twitter and Instagram are prone to incidents with faults for not staying safe online. Passwords or even personal information are taken illegally due to low knowledge on maintaining safe accounts. I learned to provide the best and safest way on how to secure my accounts and devices away from web threats like malware, spam, and phishing. Giving credits to the rightful owner was also discussed in this lecture. The Copyright law will protect your original and own work. It is important to put your sources and ask for permission to avoid copyright infringement and plagiarism.

On May 5, 2000, a Filipino named Onel de Guzman created a computer worm commonly known as 'I LOVE YOU Virus' that spread to different countries which affected over 45 million computers and caused $5.5 billion damage.

Lesson I - Introduction to Information & Communication Technology

In our first lesson, I learned a lot about I.C.T. or Information and Communication Technology. Before we jumped in to the discussion of this lesson, we had an activity and were divided into groups to illustrate what we know about I.C.T. My group decided to draw a boy occupied with his device and is surrounded by applications indicating that I.C.T. has been around us all this time even if the others are not aware of it and its help to us -- that technology gave us a way to communicate and gather information easily without waiting for months.

This lesson focused on the three types of web: Web 1.0, Web 2.0 and Web 3.0. Web 1.0. World Wide Web was invented in Web 1.0; it is also static. Web 2.0 is the website that we commonly visit for interaction and sharing like Social Networking Sites. Web 3.0 is semantic. Server problems of Web 3.0 and Trends in I.C.T are also included in this topic as well as the types of social media and operating systems.
